GDPR and Data Storage

Personal data collected via any form of contact via email or telephone will be kept securely. Your contact details and brief sessions notes will be stored on an external hard drive, and I will delete the information from my computer. The brief session notes will be anonymised using your initials only and password protected.


After Counselling has finished I will retain brief session notes for up to 10 years in a locked cabinet.


I may share some or all of your personal information, if I am under a duty to disclose or

in order to comply with any legal obligations, for example if I am subpoenaed to court or as a legal requirement such as safeguarding children or vulnerable adults, terrorism or money laundering.


You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that I hold about you. All requests have a month to be carried out.

If you ever have a concern about how I handle your personal information, please tell me.

I take your privacy seriously and will do my best to resolve any worries quickly and respectfully. If you’re not happy with my response, you can contact the UK data regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

You don’t need to give a reason to ask about your data, and you won’t be treated differently for raising a concern.


I have a legal obligation to report a data breach to you and the information’s Commissioners Office (ICO) within 72 hours.
